30+ years of procedural experience
Dr. Westergaard brings 30+ years of experience in anesthesiology and image-guided procedures to her work at Regen Experts. Her current practice focuses on non-operative joint preservation, spine care, and autologous orthobiologics: treatments using a patient’s own platelets or bone marrow concentrate.
She evaluates knee, hip, shoulder, back and neck pain, as well as selected tendon, ligament and other musculoskeletal conditions. Her goal is to help each patient understand the diagnosis and make an informed decision about treatment.
A careful evaluation comes first
Your visit includes a discussion of symptoms, function, prior treatment and personal goals, followed by a physician examination and review of relevant imaging. Ultrasound may help assess movement and clarify findings when appropriate.
Dr. Westergaard considers how joints, discs, tendons, ligaments, muscles, nerves and supporting bone may contribute to pain. A recommendation may include rehabilitation, an image-guided procedure, orthobiologic treatment or surgical consultation.
When a procedure is appropriate, she performs it herself, selecting ultrasound or fluoroscopic guidance according to the anatomy and target. She discusses the expected benefits, limitations, alternatives and costs before you decide.
